Q: Tell us a bit about where you come from
A: I come from a land far away. Where the sky is purple and the water is 82 shade of blue/teal/aqua. Animals and people live together and I regularly had tea with Aurora the Moose and Liam the Stag. I actually was born and raised in Victoria and area, except 6 years when Alberta seemed like a cool place to live. But I’m an island girl and this is home.
Q: Where did your art journey begin?
A: It began before I can remember. It’s always been my passion and my heart. I love to create and feel antsy when I’m not.
Q: What is your favourite colour?
A: Purple!…and aqua…and the rainbow(with pink instead of red) and glitter!!!!
Q:What other things do you do outside of Fired Up!?
A: Read all the books, make all the miniatures and explore beaches and forests with my husband and our two kids. I also spend time as a face painter.
Q: What is one thing people should know about you?
A: I have emitephobia. It’s real and I am not making it up. And I know it’s weird.
Q: How long have you been at Fired Up!?
A: Since the spring of 2012

Q: TELL US A BIT ABOUT WHERE YOU COME FROM?
Omg such shouty questions 😂 (it seems Em does not like caps lock questions)
I was born and raised in Vancouver island!
Q: WHEN DID YOU BEGIN YOUR ART JOURNEY?
My art journey began at around 10, ever since I learned that I could put the characters in my head onto a piece of paper!
Q: WHAT DO YOU DO OUTSIDE OF FIRED UP!?
Outside of Fired Up! I teach piano lessons and spend my free time drawing, writing and wandering around in nature.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE COLOUR?
My favourite colour is pink (and blue and purple and green…)

Don’t worry if your project doesn’t turn out exactly the way you want the first time! Learning about ceramic painting is part of the fun and we’re always happy to help boost these skills.

I started at Fired Up! in February of 2019.

I was born and raised in Victoria but also have spent some time on Mayne Island and in Banff Alberta
Q: WHEN DID YOU BEGIN YOUR ART JOURNEY?
I’ve always loved creating art and I started felting, knitting and sewing in middle school. I also have always been drawn to collage but have been exploring more with drawing and painting since 2020. Oh and I make jewelry and love creative writing!!!
Q: WHAT DO YOU DO OUTSIDE OF FIRED UP!?
similar answer to the last question: creating!!! When I’m not fixated on a new project I like to go to the beach, read, play spike-ball and spend time with friends. But I also love reality tv…..

1. Born and raised in Victoria.
2. It has ebbed and flowed over the years in various ways. I came into the studio to paint lots before working here and had so much fun that I applied for a job.
3. I love being outside in nature – bring on the dirt!

6. I worked here for a bit several years ago, ended up moving out of town, and then started back again a couple of years ago.

1. Originally from the UK, but I’ve since lost my accent (Jess is lying, if she is talking to her mom she 100% slips into her UK accent)
2. Started my art journey around 6th grade when I learned that I pick things up very quickly.
3. Trying to start vending at craft fairs, as I’m running out of people to gift my work to.
4. My favorite color is sage green
5. I’d like our guests to know they can always come ask questions on how to achieve something, we’ll do everything we can to help you make cool stuff.
